High School can be a difficult place to settle into.

What is the best advice you received or would have liked to receive when you entered High School? Similarly what advice would you give to your child entering high school in this day and age?

Be yourself, do as the teacher says, and don't fall into a bad crowd.
Have candid conversations about drugs, alcohol, smoking and peer pressure. Talk about the importance of health, safety, education and keeping good company. You actually can be your children's friends.
I told mine to observe others instead of jump into to creating friends. Get stuck into homework straight away...and love every day they have in learning something new.
