I am not a fan of gas heaters. I find they dry out my skin and give me headaches. On the other hand, oil heaters need a little while to take effect.

Which kind of heater do you prefer?

Personally, I say forget the heater and have a wood burning fireplace installed. I absolutely love having one in my home.
Yes they are wonderful, but here in Australia they are really only used in very cool areas. The most of us, are able to not have serious heating. We use more Air-Cons, because of the dual function...Cooling is bigger for us, than heating. :)
I do miss the wood burning fire.

Definitely a gas Rinnai -mine is so warm and is almost instant and does not put me to sleep as the reverse cycle air conditioner does.

You need to have natural gas for this type.

We only use our Air-Con to heat or cool.
It can be turned up or down within a degree, that's what I need.

I did have Gas and it was too expensive, made me sick too the fumes ect.
Fan heaters are only any good for 15 minutes, after that they get too hot...too expensive.
Dyson 'heat+cool' fan. Efficient, & looks good. Works perfectly for my requirements. A good investment!
