That depends entirely on your skin tone. Vibrant colours do not work well with pale skin; they're better off with a soft peach. I think deep/rich colours like purple and red look nice for dark skin.
I think it depends on the tone of your teeth as well. I know I had to do my research before purchasing a red coloured lipstick.

Yeah, a bright red when you have very white teeth can be quite garish.
Cherry Red all the way. It's classic, bold and very feminine. And once upon a time not so long ago it was the ONLY colour available, which makes it a traditional colour that flatters anyone

I didn't know that Gwen! Thanks for sharing. :)

MAC's Heroine colour!
I love MAC.

It's the best brand of lipsticks out there, Vee! :)

Also - MAC's Rebel colour!
That depends on the colour of your skin, hair, eyes, and the clothes you are wearing.

I like a slight orange tinge when I have orange-brown clothes, and a darker sort of "no colour" more often.

I always use organic lipsticks as they have less chemicals in them -to me that is more important than the colour, however I have about 5 different colours

I didn't know there was such a thing as organic lipstick. I shall be looking into that. Thanks Finy. :)

Oh, indeed there is Vee! I use a West Australian brand called Nutters, and also Jurlique -I think probably more expensive however I believe ordinary lipsticks contain metals so I would rather pay more as they last for ages anyway.

That's sounds great Finy. Next time I'm in the market for one, I'll check out the brands you've suggested. Thanks.

The more natural the better - red is great but not too bright
I like any shades of brown and pink.
Browns or neutrals.
There's no one specific colour that fits everyone. It depends on your skin tone, the colour of your lips, complexion and teeth too. I had a lot of problems finding a red lipstick that looked red on my dark lips; the reds were either too orange or too goth-like dark on my lips. After many years and many trips to the different counters, I have found that Nars Vesuvio works best for me! (Even though the colour looks different in the stick and on a swatch and on tissue.)
Red.
Champagne red!
Or cherry red
Have used, for daily wear, 'Soft Suede' or 'Warm Wood', by Revlon. These I will continue to buy, although expensive.

Have many other colours I use; pink, mauve, red, mandarin.
Buy cheaper brands now, though, of those.
Whichever colour matches my pattered dresses I always wear when I leave the house!
