My favourites.....all members' Royal Shakespeare Company......
Sir Laurence Olivier.
Sir Alec Guinness.
Sir Ralph Richardson.
Sir John Gielgud.
Lord Charles Dance.
Sir Ian McKellen.
Sir Derek Jacobi.
Sir Donald Sinden.
Sir Kenneth Brannagh.
Dame Maggie Smith.
Dame Judi Dench.
Peter O'Toole.
Ian Richardson.
Sir Antony Sher.
Vanessa Redgrave.

John Nettles.

That's all I can think of at the moment! Have seen several of those above, on stage! Fabulous thrill!
I am probably biased because of my love of Star Trek, but my favourite actor who is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Society, is Sir Patrick Stewart.
I love how Kenneth Branagh has bought Shakespeare to the mainstream with his films like Hamlet and Much Ado about Nothing. He certainly is a very accessible Shakespearean actor.
I'm with Sarah on this one. I'm a big fan of Kenneth Branagh. And it's not just Shakespeare that he is good in.

Oh! Vee, do you speak of 'Wallander'?
I prefer KB's version, as don't have to worry trying to read the subtitles! Lol!

I have not heard of Wallander, donjo. I quite liked him in Shackleton, though I cannot say I watched the entire thing. I also enjoyed him in Valkyrie. May have to check out this Wallander you speak of.

I love Sean Bean alot.
I enjoyed watching Al Pacino as "Shylock" in Merchant of Venice recently. Not a huge Shakespeare fan though.
