There are three zoos in our city - Melbourne Zoo (a traditional zoo), Werribee Zoo (an open range zoo) and Healesville Sanctuary (a haven for Australian wildlife). We were disappointd in Wertribee Zoo when we visited a couple of years ago but I love Healesville Sanctuary although Melbourne Zoo is my favourite.
We have planned a visit to Altina Wildlife Park in Darlington Point in NSW and I am particularly looing forward to seeing the white lions.
We took some foreign friends to Healesville Sanctuary once and they loved the Australian animals, so this is a good one for overseas guest who always like to see the kangaroos and koalas. The santuary has a bird show that I can highly reccomend.
I think Taronga Park is the best I have seen -although I have not been to a zoo for many years, however the location, and getting there by boat, is just beautiful, and it is so well set out with so much to see.
I live in Sydney, but we have a rather boring zoo, although the 11am bird show is very good, but not the 2pm bird showI I enjoyed the Melbourne zoo very
much, & we have also visited San Diego zoo. That was also a very good zoo.
