In an effort towards environmental and perhaps economical ends, there has been a trend towards repurposing objects for new uses.

What is the most creative object you have seen repurposed? What was it originally and what is is being used as now.

Shipping Container homes.
They are dirt cheep to buy, and for a few thousand more
you can make a home from them.
A bath tub used as a flowerbed at the farm.
I love wine barrels repurposed as tables as they give a certain rustic charm to a setting. A cafe I visit in Sydney has 5 of them around the shop which customers gather around sipping their coffee.
Toilet paper rolls used to compartmentalise a box and keep cables neat and tidy.

Although basic, milk crates as seats at cafes with cushions on top is simple but quirky.
