Do you prefer to explore new cultures or cities? Do you like to relax on the beach or race around galleries? Or is the best type of holiday closer to home and just time off work?

What is the best holiday for you, and why?

I'm very much a beach person. Love sitting on a beach relaxing in the sun. Swimming in the surf. Reading books.
I like cities with the art, history and culture - and the feeling of seeing the world and being part of something. But those holidays are rarely relaxing, so I'm not adverse to a beach escape...
I don't like going on holiday. I prefer to stay where I am. If Ido go on holiday, it is only to visit family.
Beach. As remote (far up North) as possible.
I find this depends on how worn out I am. I tend to be a workaholic, so I've overdone it and really need a break, I just want a beach to lay on and a beer net to me in the sand. If I haven't done myself in before my vacation, then I want to do anything and everything I can wherever I end up going.
That is a very personal rather individual question.

nowadays I tend to go on a cruise as I cannot carry suitcases after a bad accident.

However I used to love touring various countries in Europe by rented car, including cities and country though liked the countryside more.
